Unfinished business in Vegas

Following a few weeks visiting with family and celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday, it was time to begin my road trip across America.  I met up with Jon, my fellow "Operation Live Life" partner, in Las Vegas to begin our road trip back to Pennsylvania.

We spent our first day exploring the city and taking in Red Rock Canyon. Unfortunately we seemed to choose the only trail in the canyon that was a road....so technically we walked and never really hiked.  We did however get to see every scenic overlook in the park and the views were just beautiful.

After a mellow first day, it seemed appropriate to head out early the next day so we could take full advantage of the  insanity that is Las Vegas. The real fun began about 2 pm when we found ourselves in a margarita bar, making friends with the bar tender and a group of people from Los Angeles who were in town for a convention. We became quick friends and ventured out together to continue the fun. By early evening though it seemed that Vegas had gotten the better of us and we decided to call  it a night.

We woke up the next morning and contemplated staying in the city one more day in an effort to redeem ourselves; however, we realized it was better to have unfinished business with instead of no business being in Las Vegas.
