My cousin, Rami, and I arrived to Athens yesterday afternoon and took in the Acropolis. I've seen some impressive ancient sights before but this one takes
the leader position for me. The setting atop the hill, the sheer span
of the sight, the city backdrop, etc... I just closed my eyes and was
able to vividly imagine what it must have been like all those years ago.
We met up with Rami's friends in the early evening and they treated us
to a wonderfully authentic Greek dinner followed by cocktails at this
amazingly chill, marina, lounge. The lounge overlooked the water and was
beautifully decorated in that understated but comfortable zen water
vibe. The night line view was beautiful and the cocktails went down a
bit too easy. We reached that pivotal point in the evening where you (A)
call it quits to get rest for the early morning rise or (B) you say
f**k it all and just decide to pull an all nighter. We went
with option B! We arrived back to the hotel at 4:30 am, quickly showered
and made it to the port for 5:30 am to pick up our tickets to head out
on the high speed ferry to Santorini. We arrived to Santorini this afternoon and it's beautiful.
